FredSocial iOS App Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Overview
FredSocial is the iOS app for FreddyReyes.com. The app lets you read Freddy's articles, save articles locally, ask the Ask Freddy assistant questions, manage optional subscriptions, and contact Freddy through the website.
Information the App May Collect
The app may collect or process information needed to provide app features, including article requests, Ask Freddy questions, contact-form messages, subscription receipt information used to validate paid access, app diagnostics, product interaction data, and advertising-related data when ads are available.
Saved articles, Ask Freddy conversation history, reading preferences, special access codes, and subscription tier state are stored on your device using Apple-provided local storage. Saved articles are private to your device unless you choose to share them.
Ask Freddy and Article Assistant
When you ask a question, the app sends your question, limited recent conversation context, optional article context, optional access code, and optional App Store receipt information to FreddyReyes.com so the backend can generate an answer, enforce usage limits, and validate paid access. OpenAI processing happens server-side; OpenAI API keys are never stored in the iOS app.
Subscriptions and Purchases
Ask Freddy subscriptions are purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system. The app uses StoreKit to manage purchases and restore subscriptions. Receipt information may be sent to FreddyReyes.com so the backend can confirm your subscription tier before applying paid Ask Freddy limits or removing ads.
Advertising and Tracking
FredSocial may show Google Mobile Ads to free users. Paid Ask Freddy subscription tiers remove ads. On iOS and iPadOS versions that require App Tracking Transparency permission, the app asks for permission before starting Google Mobile Ads for tracking or advertising identifier access. If you deny or restrict tracking permission, ad placements remain inactive.
Google and its advertising partners may process advertising data, product interaction data, device identifiers, and similar information according to their own privacy policies when ads are active and permitted.
Contact Requests
If you use the Contact tab, the app sends the name, email address, subject, and message you provide to FreddyReyes.com. The backend uses this information to deliver your message, prevent abuse, and reply when appropriate.
Notifications and Spotlight
If you enable article alerts, the app may use local notifications to let you know when new articles are available. Cached and saved articles may be indexed with Core Spotlight so you can find them in iOS search. These features use Apple system services on your device.
Third-Party Services
The app and website backend may use third-party services including Apple StoreKit, Google Mobile Ads, Google Analytics or advertising services on the website, OpenAI for server-side AI responses, Cloudflare for hosting and security, and Resend or similar email delivery providers for contact messages.
Your Choices
You can deny App Tracking Transparency permission, manage tracking permission in iOS Settings, restore or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account, clear locally stored app data by deleting the app, and choose whether to enable article notifications. More details are available on the FredSocial iOS privacy choices page: Privacy Choices.
Children's Privacy
FredSocial is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
