Last Updated on December 7, 2023 by Freddy Reyes

If you have one of the new Cisco/Linksys E3000/E2000 series routers and changed different parameters using the web gui, you probably won’t be able to use “Cisco Connect” again to modify your “Guest Network” or change “Parental Controls”

However there is a way to access “Cisco Connect”.

1- Go you your router web gui and change the router password to match your network SSID password:

2- Make sure that your broadcasting the SSID. If you are not, you can enable temporarily and change it back after you finish using Cisco Connect

3- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco Systems\Cisco Connect\Settings\Settings.xml and edit the fields:

WirelessSSID=”yourssid”
WirelessPassword=”yourpass”
AdminPassword=”yourpass”

The SSID and Admin/Wireless passwords must be all the same.

4- Save it and run Cisco Connect. You should be able to run it now.
